Another alt timeline: “President Redford” was a consistent and important, if offscreen, presence in HBO’s brilliant “Watchmen.”

Robert Redford Had a Major Impact on Damon Lindelof's HBO Miniseries That You Definitely Forgot About
In HBO's Watchmen miniseries, Damon Lindelof made Robert Redford the President of the United States, but the actor never appeared.

Nothing says “extreme” like barely legible lettering at unnecessarily odd angles. Another example of this sub-genre: Fruitopia.

Approachability and relatability of this cast — very much so, and part of why it continues to connect.

Script, cast chemistry, direction, and, of course, a heist plot with heart.

More important: How many dishwasher empty cycles and laundry processing can it do before needing a charge?
I don’t need a robot to do bad dance moves and get tired. I can do that on my own.

Yep. Bit much. Almost have to watch “Ruthless People” or even “The Money Pit” as not-quite-that-dark comedy reset.

I appreciate this, and you're right --- this probably fits into the done well, leave well enough alone category.
Not only are there plenty of comedies that could have been better, there are simply more originaly funny stories to be told.
I would take either these days, but especially the latter.

Worth the rewatch. Tight script, if a bit silly at times (including the FL adventure), and well-acted. I don't say this of many comedies, but this is one I think could have a quality remake, provided the right director and cast.
