just happy to be here
Reminds me of an Irish tax driver who made a big deal (with a negative insinuation) of immigrants coming to Ireland to work without wives or children.

Later on the trip I saw this plaque commemorating Irish women who endured after their husbands emigrated without wives and children.

Yeah, yeah, the cliffs were pretty, but this was my favorite part of our visit...

Reminds me of the time I found a plastic "National Science Bowl" bag on a remote beach in a marine preserve. Oy.

Every 35 years or so I make it a point to get to the Rose Festival.

Weird stuff happens in the tropics...

Tonight we hiked into a hut made of driftwood & conch shells on a remote beach in the US Virgin Islands.

We were celebrating St. Paddy's Day with friends.

Who should come walking down the beach?...the only other person on the beach?! An Irishman!

I know the photo won't be as dramatic as what I see with my eyes, but my point is this: sometimes moonrises are as vivid as sunrises.

Are articles like this simply click bait? Or are they written to soothe subscribers by normalizing ridiculousness? Or is this just a joke I'm not in on?

I keep hearing that journalism is in crisis, but how could it not be if this is what the WSJ is covering?

Fun watching the frangipani worms grow from less than an inch long to the length of my hands in just a few weeks. #CaribbeanSky #USVI

Looking at the Street View of an apartment building in Naples, Italy that my daughter is considering... hard to imagine a more stereotypical scene: older fella with a cane chilling on the corner, laundry hanging, scooters.

I'm in Italy at the moment, and I thought this local angle on Zohran Mamdani in the newspaper was interesting... "the problem" they are referring to are the things his opponents don't like about him.
