Introduction to Thousand Springs, a yuriful SFW Long-Form Writer on Women of Progress: a Jayvik Yuri Zine. Thousand Springs uses any pronouns. Their icon is an illustration of a person with shoulder-length black hair. They are running their hand through their hair and smiling bashfully at the viewer. Thousand Springs can be found on Tumblr at thousand-winters, X at thousand_ness, and Archive of Our Own at Thousand_Springs. Their bio reads as follows: “Hello there! I'm Ness, and I'm very excited to be part of this zine! I believe that genderbending is one of the most interesting ways to twist a story when it comes to alternative universes. There's a lot of richness to be found in the ways a change like that can affect character dynamics and roles in a story, and it's very thrilling to think of all the possibilities (and timelines, if you will) to be had that way with Jayce and Viktor!” Their writing sample reads as follows: "You said this would change nothing," Vi bites out. The beginning of a growl sharpens her voice into a coarse rumble that makes the back of Cait's throat feel dry. But it's not the outrage behind it that causes her to suddenly feel loss for words. It's hard to tell where exactly he is when every other sound apart from his heartbeat and the insistint buzz in his ears feels like its coming from underwater. ""I'm here. I'm here."" He's fairly sure that there were birds chirping earlier. Is he just unable to hear them anymore or have they fallen silent, a subtle warning in their disappearance? His mind is screaming. Danger. Something grabs his hand and he wants to jump away, maybe enact his earlier plan and run. Run where? He doesn't know, but he should get away. How is the question. There are no answers there either, but he would have them. He would know exactly what to do, he only has to relinquish the reins, he has to let himself fall back in a pleasant slumber, he has to— ""Viktor!"" When Jayce moves into the cheapest apartment he can find near the Academy, he finds that the prior occupant never left. Could this be the start of an unlikely friendship? Or perhaps... more? Writer @thousandsprings.bsky.social weaves a thoughtful tale!
"Once Jayce has gotten rid of his little dirty prize, and he has given his hands a quick wash, he starts rumaging through the drawer—the gloves, basic pills for pain, a pill organizer with handwritten abbreviations that he doesn't understand, an unopened toothbrush, a comb with a couple of brown hairs still stuck on its teeth. Slightly uneasy, he picks up the gloves and gently closes the drawer again, hiding the proof of life from sight. It makes Jayce think about his mom putting away his father's things inside clean, labeled, impersonal boxes, none of them right for the contents, but good enough to keep them out of view and to keep that sad glint in his mom's face far away from them. He winces. ""Huh… sorry if this was your house before,"" he says quietly. ""I kinda need to live here now though. Do you know how expensive rent is near the Academy? This is the best deal I will ever get."" Telling a possible dead person that their house is cheap is probably not the best manners. He

Machine Herald Viktor in a Portal 2 au as Glados. His body is completely artificial and robotic, with exposed wires, lights, and armor. He has just been woken up by Jayce (Chell) after Jayce killed him to escape the testing facility. There is dialogue text from Portal 2 that says, “Oh…. It’s you. It’s been a long time. How have you been? I’ve been really busy being dead… You know, after you murdered me.” Jayce Giopara in a Portal 2 au as Chell, at the moment Glados/Viktor has been woken up after Jayce had killed him to escape the testing facility. page 1, Viktor approaches a grumpy Jayce with a deck of cards and asks him to pick one, memorize it and put it back in the deck. he is going to guess which card it was. Jayce is a bit skeptical but does as he is told. page 2 Viktor shows Jayce a card but it's the wrong one. he tries the trick a few more times but it's always the wrong card. Jayce is making fun of him until Viktor suddenly stops him and tells him to check his pocket. he looks at the card in his hands page 3 the card is still wrong. Viktor is frustrated and goes over his trick to figure out where he went wrong. when he is about to figure it out, Jayce gently brushes his hair out of his face and reveals he had the card all along. page 4 Jayce is way more relaxed now, and he is making fun of Viktor, calling him cute for trying to best him at his own trick. Viktor flirts back but before they can kiss, he demands Jayce for another demonstration of the cards trick
