I can't believe people aren't vaccinating their dogs because they think they'll get autism. That's so silly. Everyone knows that dogs have ADHD. It's the cats who are autistic.

A Canadian study of nearly 9,000 adults looked at repeat COVID infections. Researchers found that people who reported having COVID at least twice had 76% higher odds of being diagnosed with a new health condition, across 21 conditions studied, compared with those who reported never being infected.
Adults with Two or More COVID Infections Had 76% Higher Odds of a New Diagnosis in Canadian Survey
A Canadian survey tied repeat COVID-19 infections to 76% higher odds of a new diagnosis. Here is what it shows and what it cannot prove.

Publishers: “Short stories don’t sell and are impossible to market so we are not going to take the risk of publishing them.”

Also publishers: “What can we publish to fit this era of reduced attention spans when people are reading fewer novels?”

A study using PET brain scans found people with Long COVID had significantly lower levels of VMAT2, a protein involved in dopamine signalling, compared with healthy people. Reductions of 16–20% were found in brain regions involved in motivation, movement, memory, planning and apathy.

Anyone can become disabled at any time.

It’s not a moral failing.

It’s not laziness or a lack of effort.

It’s a part of the human condition.

People get sick. Bodies break down.

It’s a minority group you can join any time.

It is never too late to start wearing a mask

A well fitted respirator like an N95 provides excellent protection against Covid and other airborne viruses

With healthcare cuts and public health in shambles, we should all do our part to help each other

If you can’t afford them… look for a mask bloc!

14 hours later and my mentions are still full of angry treatises about badly behaved cyclists.

Bike lanes are not a reward for good cyclist behavior! They are infrastructure proven to make cities safer for ALL ROAD USERS. Whatever way cyclists have wronged you is irrelevant to the discussion!
Every conversation about bike lanes is like:

"Car crashes kill a huge number of people every day, including pedestrians, cyclists, & car occupants. Good bike infrastructure has been shown to make everyone safer (& doesn't increase congestion)."

"But sometimes cyclists break rules & hit people!"

there is no such thing as "age verification."

All "age verification" is actually "identity verification."

You can coat it in glitter and "privacy-preserving" wrapping paper.

But in the end, mandating age verification means mandating surveillance be built into software and hardware.

Period.

I have been informed
that today
is a day for giving
and in that spirit
if you would like
to do something
to show you give a damn:
you can wear a mask,
and if you
really do give a damn
you can keep wearing it
even on the days
that are not
specifically for giving.
