Much as I enjoyed Spiderman Brand New Day, I also find it funny that people in my ideological camp are more likely to think Chris Nolan has sus politics than the makers of BND. Nolan actually had Batman give control of his spy tech to a man morally opposed to it.

RE: The Atlantic, a few months after this issue a guy in El Paso went on a rampage targeting people he thought looked "Mexican"; he shot 45 and killed 23. when I read some journalists lines from his manifesto and Frum's essay and asked them who wrote which, they couldn't tell, I couldn't blame them

There's a claim among Republicans making the rounds that a study "proved" injecting liberals with testosterone made them conservatives. What the claim fails to mention is that only center left men were affected. Leftists were not, which blows that talking point out of the water.

I'll be upfront: I don't know the exact circumstances behind Jake Lang being assaulted, and unless he initiated violence, he should not have been. But any conservative who covers up his professed white supremacy can be ignored.

Coming out as trans convinced me that both things are true because Republicans are stupid and cannot see basic connections between things. They can like every trans person they know, think trans people should be wiped out, and not understand how the trans people they know would be impacted by this.
