I feel like a lot of arguments about "intellectual property" in general, and copyright in particular, forget to discuss what humans have *historically* used for the jobs that copyright does today.

irrationally, disproportionately annoyed by this new mtg card's flavor txt. what do you mean "doesn't grade on a curve". if "only the deadliest" survive then that's not testing a bar of "this deadly" but rather selecting the most deadly ("deadliest") in your cohort. which is. literally. a curve grade

if our world is the setting of some higher reality's cyberpunk farce then I think there's strong evidence that the writer is either a trans woman or the close friend of a trans woman

I was thinking lately that one of the cool things about Halloween is that it gives people the opportunity to experiment with presenting themselves in new ways – playing roles that they wouldn't normally be "allowed" to play – without it having the scary connotation of Meaning anything in particular.
