A lot of these people just want to share with their kids the magic of being part of a worldwide phenomenon that made millions of people feel like they could be a little bit magical, too. What they don't understand is that these books will NEVER be that for their kids, or anyone else's kids.

And the really sad thing that they don't get about it is that Harry Potter will never be that again, either. And a big part of why Harry Potter will never be that again is because JK Rowling poisoned it all on her own.

The reason that the Harry Potter apologists won't just read better books is because they're not looking for good stories...if they were, they wouldn't have glommed on to Harry Potter. They're looking for the camaraderie and social phenomenon that Harry Potter was in the 2000s.

I thought my community pedestrian and bike infrastructure was solidly okay until I bought an ebike and started using it instead of a car for short trips. Within a month my opinion drastically changed lol.
Love to see this! Riding a bike regularly for transit really fundamentally changes how you see not just cars, but the community around you.
big change to my material conditions: I am a bike commuter now. I will be updating my transportation opinions dialectically (I am already 27% more opinionated about bike lanes and our school crossing guard comrades)

I would once again like to complain about the ridiculous rules about buying real Sudafed, which mean you can only buy it when the pharmacy is open and not, say, right now.
There should be something like TSA Precheck where you can be certified as Not a Meth Dealer and get it from a vending machine.
