My greatest parenting achievement is that all the local librarians know my kid's name.

I swear he would live in that place if he could 😆
Stunning hike up Clougha Pike this morning 😍

(except for the grouse shooters training their hounds spoiling the ascent)

"Far from being dying relics from some bygone era, they're living ecosystems - growing, regenerating and spreading, whenever they're given half a chance." - @guyshrubsole.bsky.social in 'The Lost Rainforests of Britain'
Was surprised to see some small pockets of greenery at Gisburn Forest with my little ones today 🌳

A new ecological survey of our Northwoods Rewilding Network compared rewilded areas with neighbouring non-rewilded land – and the differences are striking. Clear evidence that rewilding is driving dramatic nature recovery across Scotland.

Hello—here’s the official trailer for UNDERLAND, based on my book of the same name, dir. by Rob Petit, with a haunting, glittering score by @hannahpeel.bsky.social, & the ‘Storyteller’ voiced by Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall, The Zone of Interest). Hope you like it.

In UK/Irish cinemas 27 March.

Staying up late to finish a book is so much riskier as a parent

Some books are just worth a sleepless night

"They’re a catastrophe like an earthquake is a catastrophe, an act of the gods. They’re the crumbling of an empire and the simple, immediate crash of glass on the floor for good luck. They’re everything, and they’re Theo. Singular Theo, everlasting Theo, Theo the superbloom."

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you don't HAVE to read 100 books this year.

All that matters is you're alive and LIVING.

Page count means nothing.

Sure, read books! If you want to. I think books are important, but priorities fluctuate.

What I'm trying to say is... chill. Take it easy.
