It appears that some men may live in such a confident expectation that consent is given, that they can overlook the fact that consent may not have been given.

Feel free to campaign for wider access to handguns & machine guns in the UK. Or maybe in Australia?

You’ll find the argument is a non-starter. Many countries think even one mass shooting is too high a societal cost for a dangerous & useless toy.

Oddly, the US has similar views of Kinder Surprise.

“make back the upfront costs“ is an odd way to evaluate the return on investment.

Surely if the annual savings are a greater percentage of the initial investment than the return we’d get by putting the same money into a savings account (or alternative investment), the investment is worthwhile?

For complete loss of ice caps? True

What’s the cost of a 0.6 m rise in sea levels? That’s the minimum IPCC estimate by 2100. Versus the cost of 1.1 m (also possible)?

Have to consider these costs (& others) against costs of net zero.

During the Eemian period CO2 concentrations were much lower than they are today. On present trajectory the earth is heading for a much warmer climate eg: Pliocene period. (Sea levels 15 higher)

Whats the cost of this likely to be?

Translating people’s disutility from commuting into a monetary value “isn’t that straightforward”?

Really?

It’s trivially easy to estimate willingness to forgo your time for a monetary value. It’s called a salary.

Twitter isn’t at all flooded with loopy conspiracy theorists.

Here’s a Tweet from the famously sane David Icke popping up in my feed…
