Currently focusing on Collecting & Cataloging VHS Tapes with any sense of Nostalgia for me.
Of all the reasons Bluesky is superior to Elon's Twitter I never hear anyone appreciating the fact I can watch a video on here that works & without getting bombarded immediately afterwards with irrelevant crap.

I actively avoid videos on Twitter because of how janky and annoying their system is.

If Disney wants to resonate with the original Star Wars trilogy more, they need to start hiring more autistic people who do cocaine to write/produce. That's what made the OT so magical after all.

I know it'll mark me forever as having bad taste or something but I'm just gonna come out and say I liked Legend of Korra MORE than ATLA.

There's a ton of reasons why that likely are unique to my own personal tastes but I think most criticisms are wildly overblown.
My unpopular opinion is that Legend of Korra was a really good show especially considering that it wasn’t supposed to exist beyond the first season, and that its third season (and the fallout from it) is up there with the best of anything from ATLA

Visited my brother in-law with my VCR & the 1984 SW tape, worked perfectly. I have a watch party with friends this weekend so looking forward to that.

I grew up with the Lucas edits so they're not as egregious to me but I definitely see a lot of charm in the tameness of the more original version

By this logic Nightmare Before Christmas isn't a Thanksgiving movie, get real
Here is a test for the civility on BlueSky:

A movie cannot be a Christmas movie unless Christmas plays a central mechanism in the transition of the narrative from A to B.

So Die Hard is clearly NOT a Christmas movie because Christmas changes nothing in the story.

Not to mention a lot of them get tickets to events whether that's museums, theaters, concerts, and even sports games.
remember to get a library card from your local library, you can check out books, movies, video games and your library might over fun stuff unique to just that location!

Rn doing an analysis and presentation on the genomics of Medieval Age Vikings.

Basically a study on their range of impact by seeing where their genes ended up.
Mine's an analysis how Assassin's Creed Odyssey & strategy game Hegemony Wars of Ancient Greece as video games (presenting historical problem spaces) shape the content of the 5th century Peloponnesian War
Current book is for history educators abt how to design games & have students design games

Watched Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park recently on VHS & obviously modern movies look better but there's something special about watching these movies on the hardware it was designed for.

On tape, on a CRT, the effects blend in with the movie 1000x better than most CGI today.

Couple of tapes came in today, boxes are subpar but the tapes themselves are in perfect condition. I now own the 1984 VHS release of Star Wars, the 1995 trilogy box set, and the 2000 Special Edition box set. Pre, Post, and everything between the George Lucas Edits on VHS
