Saw Buffalo Tom and they were great. The encore performance of Sparkys Dream with support act Gerry Love was just perfect. A truly great night out

Still on my Control grind. Finished the Foundation DLC today. Oh and finally tackled the Mould side quest. Lots of fun

This week I finally went back to Control after getting stuck years back. Today I completed the main story. I can confidently say that it’s one of my favourite games ever. Also bloody hard in the late stages!
Such a satisfying experience though

Saw the new Spider-man film today. It’s overlong, corny, and has too many unnecessary fights. At the same time the emotional stakes were near perfect. Good acting all around with strong chemistry in the quiet moments. With a couple of caveats I can say that I enjoyed it

I saw The Odyssey today. It's an overlong episodic film with lulls but the best parts are extraordinary
I thought Samantha Morton, John Leguizamo and Anne Hathaway did really well. Most others are solid
I'm tempted to go see it in IMAX to see what that scale adds
Best new film I've seen this year

Just had the world cup sweepstake at work. I got the DR Congo and Belgium. So no chance of winning anything for the umpteenth time in a row. I'm just hoping I get value out of it like when I got Cameroon at Italia 90

@emilystjams.bsky.social I finished Woodworking today. It’s up with the best books I’ve read this century. Looking forward to whatever is coming next

I've been playing Dredge in little chunks these past few weeks and I finally got both endings. It's a good game. I don't know if I'll bother with the DLC though

It took me weeks but I finally completed work on a personal project tonight. I'm pretty happy about that
It's a web app that had been lying incomplete for a couple of years
Now it has a new front page, advanced search and a lot of helpful admin tools
Only two of my other apps left to finish off now

I saw Princess Mononoke in IMAX earlier today.
What an incredible experience. I highly recommend it.
While not the one I go back to for comfort this is the Ghibli film I love the most.
Everything about it is exceptional but the score is truly an all time great. Got to give it up to Joe Hisashi

I have now seen both the new Fantastic Four and Superman films. They are both worth seeing. Both successfully capture the feel of a certain era of the comics. Both are very well cast. FF is less interested in a wider superhero community and continuity and is a more coherent tale as a result

Saw Thunderbolts* today. It's an enjoyable romp carried by the enormous talent and charisma of Florence Pugh
It's no masterpiece but worth seeing if you're not completely burnt out by superhero films

While I'm still enjoying the connections puzzles I decided a few days ago to stop posting results on here. It's gotten boring even to me
