If you are a daily puzzle kinda person and maybe have a kid following along with you, Jake made some new daily puzzles that are more kid friendly. And they're fun.
My kids and I do daily puzzles, like the NYT puzzles and such... but connections is kinda hard if you're a kid. I made a daily puzzle website that is kid-accessible, parent-fun, would love feedback

Some people are offended by how far off the comparisons are between the camps in the US today and how Dachau ended. Instead, they should be revolted by how close our camps are to how Dachau began.

This is an amazing announcement.

This is also how I feel about libraries.
I’m on Amtrak and the conductor just made the best quiet car announcement I’ve heard yet:

“This is the quiet car. If you’re going to feel some kind of way when people shush you, then you should not sit in the quiet car.”

Fifteen minutes before the President announced he was pausing strikes on Iran, somebody moved $500 million in oil futures. Somebody knew. Somebody told them. Or somebody is them.

I got "tickets" to a comedy show and got ghosted for a 2nd date by a different woman, so I called her up last minute and she came into the city.

That's also how I found out she was a month shy of 21 because there was a 2 drink minimum or pay a cover charge.

That was 17 years ago this month.
This is an unapologetically sappy feel-good subject (at least, I guess, for people in a happy relationship”). So, to prepare for Valentine’s Day, what did you and your partner do for a first date?

My wife and I went to tea at Huntington Gardens and walked around.
On our first date, my spouse and I spent like an hour talking about footnotes.

Washington! Do your thing and write this letter to allow DNR to receive funding NOT from logging. Doing this saves legacy forests. And if you’re not in Washington, spread the word. You need our trees too!

haven't seen it emphasized enough in the risk comms, but you need to be really careful when venturing out on foot after an ice storm. it doesn't take more than a falling branch or an icicle to kill you dead (plus, entire trees will be falling). it happens every storm. don't be a statistic

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court just allowed Vought to impose a de facto impoundment of foreign aid.

Listening to @socialistdogmom.bsky.social on Weird Little Guys and I realized I might be able to clear up a point. She was talking about Yianniki being the guys name and wasn't sure why. -iki is a kind of Greek diminutive for names. My wife who is (US-born) Greek confirmed it. So its Little John.
