Francesco Amoroso per TRISTE© French songwriter Thierry Haliniak has been making music as My Raining Stars since the late ’90s, drawing on the influence of C86, Creation and Sarah Records. After the early experience with Nothing To Be Done, who shared stages with the likes of The Boo Radleys, Adorable and Moose, he eventually released his first album, From St Saviour To Quickwell, in 2008. Since then, he has quietly built a discography devoted to the simple, timeless pleasures of guitar pop. His latest album is called Toy Club…

The Silent Boys - Soul Of The Sea The Silent Boys is an indie-pop band from Richmond, Virginia, playing and recording music for the past three decades. The Silent Boys bandleader, Wallace Dietz, formed the group in the mid-80s, inspired by the post-punk guitar pop that once ruled the college radio airwaves. The Silent Boys were frequent players at many of the rock n’ roll nightclubs in downtown Richmond, until 1991 when Wallace “pulled the plug.” Recordings from this era made their way on to various indie pop compilations in the late 90s and with the renewed interest, Wallace reformed the group in 1999.

heka (aka Francesca Brierley) is an experimental artist, songwriter and producer whose intimate songwriting merges elements of folk, ambient and lo-fi electronics into hybrid compositions. With a background in visual art and creative computing, her practice is shaped by collage, layering acoustic and electronic textures to create music that moves between the personal and the abstract, the organic and the digital. Raised in the Italian countryside before moving to London, heka’s songwriting is rooted in the relationship between language, memory and belonging. Moving between English and Italian, she explores the ways voice carries personal history, place and emotion.

Having worked together on tracks for the brother’s previous album as Junkboy (2023’s Littoral States), the three resolved to move forward as one with a set of songs that expand on those earlier ideas—maritime suburbia in all its mythical and marvellous mundanity. This time, however, they approach it through a cycle of home-recorded, informed psych-folk-pop-pocket-symphonies. Their debut album, Dream Is The Driver…
