One indication we may have that AI is not going to destroy humanity is the stock performance of the key AI players. If investors think a company is going to destroy humanity, they will pull their money out on ethical grounds.

If only there were lessons from the history of software engineering and technology that showed the perils of rushing products. Then, Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI and others would have some historical analogs to what they are dealing with.
