If you're not Minnesotan, you might not know that the late Philando Castile is a major reason we got free school lunches for all children in the state. When he was alive, Castile was a cafeteria worker who covered the cost of lunch for children who were too poor to eat. 1/x
ICE killing #AlexPretti should remind you of police killing #PhilandoCastille. Both men had concealed weapon permits, did not draw their guns, & were killed in Minn. These homicides are the price of unaccountable policing. These deaths are variations on the same fatal theme.

Some people would also shout out "I will not [commit] suicide" so that if they later were found dead in suspicious circumstances, it would be known that they had been killed rather than killed themselves.
And/so, yes, please exercise care when protesting/resisting/standing up for your community.

This whole thread is fascinating & included a few protest glyphs I defo had forgotten.
This particular one I do remember though, cause I found it quite amazing how Hong Kongers navigated, discussed & (generally) embraced diversity of tactics & roles in the movement.
