"I was so absorbed I didn’t see her until I was already standing in front of her. Someone like her should have been impossible to overlook."

Who is this mysterious character?

"Up to no good"
Once in a while, you get a image that you didn't necessarily want, but is still interesting.
What is she thinking here?

The House — Chapter 1: Candidate #53
A small preview before Chapter 1 arrives.
“We've been expecting you.”
(Japanese reading order)
1. A woman giving the passphrase from her invitation "Je me soumets à mes démons" 2. A set of double black doors opening 3. A pair of legs and feet wearing pantyhose and ankle-strap high heels "We've been expecting you" A gradient background with a rose in it. A maid saying "Please follow me". She is smirking. The maid dress is short and she is wearing black thigh highs. An identification box with questions marks in it, indicating we do not know who this character is yet. A page containing the following panels 1. Two pairs of feet walking away from the reader in a large white room. The feet in front belong to the maid, while the ones in the back, wearing white sneakers belong to the main character. 2 and 3. The two characters walking and thinking that the other is cute. In panel 2 with the main character, we can partly see what is either a painting or a photograph in a frame. 4. A hand opening a black door "Here we are." 5. The smirking maid showing the door. "The changing room." 6. The main character, Candidate #53, turning around as she enters the room "Thank you."

"She asked me to look her in the eye, and it was hard not to. Her gaze could be harsh, sometimes almost knowing, yet there was something reassuring about her tone. And her presence was... undeniable."

I followed the maid through the white corridor of the mansion. Was that now a smile on her face? I couldn't tell. I was walking behind her, after all.
