My family’s pet cockatiel, Nibbles, just passed away. She adopted us back in 2001, when she appeared in our driveway, hungry and scared. She hopped onto my extended arm, and has been a member of our family ever since.
Nibbles was at least 30 years old — an extraordinarily long life for a cockatiel!

underrated part of El-Sayed’s messaging strategy seems to be shaming journalists who ask dumb questions that play into right-wing frames. you can’t answer these in a way that satisfies them, but you can make it embarrassing enough that you impose a toll on asking.
