Our stance on @discord.com's plans for March. It's always important to remember that censorship never stops with adult content. LGBTQIA+ people and people of color are the first to suffer.

It's never about children. It's about monetization and surveillance.
Discord plans to launch ID and video face age verification in March. You can read more about their plans here: https://discord.com/press-releases/discord-launches-teen-by-default-settings-globally What does this have to do with United Aegis, or yourself, you may wonder? Well, United Aegis is not an age-restricted server. Even if this policy change does come to be, we don't foresee much changing here aside from losing server boosts and a few of the fun extras as we cancel our Nitro. Even if you aren't someone who uses Discord for adult content, be that art, writing, or just sending content to your partner, it's important to remember that censorship of adult content never stops with porn. LGBTQIA+ people and people of color are the first groups targeted by changes like this. So, what can we do? There is a chance that enough feedback will force Discord to walk back these changes (remember NFT integration?) We highly encourage you to cancel your Nitro membership. Speaking up with your wallet is a great way to tell a company you don't agree. We also encourage you to sign up for a Support Account on their feedback page. https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/requests/new You will have to make a Support Account, which only takes a few moments. Please keep your feedback calm and constructive. The folks reading all your feedback likely aren't the ones making these decisions, so be cool. What does that mean for our community? Ideally, they'll walk this back. If they don't, there are other options out there, we can consider them at that time, but we don't foresee moving at this point. Good morning folks! In an overabundance of caution, we recommend taking any items you care about out of your banks before August 5th. They're changing the way the bank works, and the last time that happened our guild bank was deleted.

On the PTR they have not yet solved the issue of saved Letters becoming blank after the upgrade, so if you have any saved Plain Letters, do grab those, I think! Along with anything else of sentimental value.
