My employment was threatened today because of my attitudes towards AI ("I do not respect anyone who uses ChatGPT"). Said (by someone who isn't in that position but thinks he is) that companies are "firing people because it's cheaper to use AI"

Disappointed by the patch I received from an indie press. Not even a semi-decently embroidered one, but one seemingly printed on material. Glad to support independent writers and an independent, anti-AI press that is promoting them, but man.

Requested my mail-in ballot for November's election last night. Thinking I may hold off on sending it in and just dropping it off in person to guarantee it gets there.
I don't think electoralism really matters much, but I definitely hate Ben Cline enough to try.

I don't know, if you have to telegraph your lack of concern over things, preemptively, it seems like you might be kind of concerned.

The worst thing white people ever did was infect the world with the idea that solidarity is transactional and that you should only support another's struggle for rights and equality if it's reciprocal or you get something in return. That turns human rights into a barter system.

I've turned about 18lbs of tomatoes into 15 quarts of salsa so far.
All I grew this year were San Marzanos. A great sauce tomato, not a great salsa tomato. I'm making salsa with it, anyway.
