Huh, these days LineageOS does not complain at all about not having reset userdata and just picks everything up from a stock ROM… to very cursed results

Finally found one of those disposable vapes, without specifically looking for one. Someone, uh, disposed of it right in the bike lane. That's a whole-ass 3.7V 900mAh cell!! (112038) And an 8051 based MCU of course.

Diaassembled disposable vape with a rectangular cell and the PCBs (one little button one attached perpendicularly to the main one that has the LED panel (with fixed icons to shine thru) and the MCU amd stuff Disassembled super cheapo milk foamer, just a motor and a battery compartment directly powering the motor

My first #criticalmass \o/ this was fun, even if it did give me critical(ly sore) ass after cycling through the entire length of the city back and forth.

It’s all on a public square in the middle of a highway, buildings are visible in the background A little flag of Argentina hanging from a pole horizontally attached (like outwards) to a bike suspension fork that also has a wide wooden box with a metal electronics (audio) box inside. Background is quite blurred but you can see there are people with bicycles A tiny dog, chihuahua, in a red plastic milk crate mounted to the rear rack of a bicycle

I was today years old when I found out that #xonotic uses the DarkPlaces engine. Yes that one. The Quake 1 fork that I've played Quake 1 with a decade ago?? What even. I was 100% convinced for years that Xonotic was a Q3 derivative 🤦‍♀️

Usually I don't type all caps, but I really found a fix for those needing to quickly get their data back. I noticed that it would try to boot better before crashing if the phone was cold so naturally I put it in the freezer for 20min to see what would happen.. To my disbelief the phone started up and worked for 3 minutes before crashing again with these artifacts on the screen and going back to bootloop.. So I took my laptop, a long USB-C cable then I put the phone in the freezer, door closed, cable hanging out and sat next to the freezer (-18°C) and managed to copy all of my foto's and videos from the device! Copied over an hour and half so it was pretty stable! The moment I took it out of the freezer (the phone had ice all over the screen 😂) it crashed within 5 minutes again when it heated up. I saved 79GB worth of data from it! Extremely relieved I didn't loose 8 months worth of video, foto's and messages. So yeah, I was lucky and it was a good lesson that backups are very important 😅 Oh important sidenote, before all this I charged the battery to 100% because when the phone is that cold it doesn't charge in the freezer! If you don't get anything on the screen at first it is in a crash loop or the battery is too dead. While plugged in: Hold volume up and power button at the same time (sometimes it takes about a minute to respond) until you see the logo. Then it should go to the charging screen where you can leave it until charged. Really hope this helps someone else out saving their data. Good luck!
