Consent is valid when someone "freely and consciously" agrees to the proposal or desires of another and not valid when traded since you have the money they need, you have the desire they don't have. It's wrong because you would be imposing your desire on someone. Commodification has to stop for all.

And I do not shrink, though a wave of pain
Sobs over me now and then,
As I think of those “saddest of all sad words,”
The pitiful “might have been.”

“It might have been”, it is not to be...

“THE FACE UNDER THE BALACLAVA” I am a citizen of the world. I have not been shaped by politicians, nor do I obey priests. I do not let them influence who I am or what I should say. I believe that one day, those who do not share our ideas will be on our side. I believe that direct action is an indispensable part of the wake-up call necessary in any fight for freedom. I have seen what lies behind the walls of laboratories, farms and slaughterhouses. I have lived with many freed animals. I have been with them during their nightmares and their fears. I have known their joy and their sadness. I have seen dogs pee in fear at the sight of a man in a white coat, I have seen them hide for weeks under a bed after being released. But I have also seen them watch the first fall of snow after spending their lives in a laboratory cage, and take their first hesitant steps towards the ocean under the full moon. I have seen lab rats, gerbils, hamsters, mice and rabbits care for those who were dying. I have seen them investigate new foods and new natural spaces, after being fed exclusively on kibble and living in a plastic box less than 30 x 20 cm. I have seen them enjoy a full and happy life, far removed from their previous life. I have seen them trust a species that curses them and sees them as parasites. They have long since passed away. As I write, I look at the photograph of two freed beagles. When I look at that image, I remember the light and love they brought into my life. I will never forget their pain. I know I am fighting for something that is right, and I am not ashamed to say so. If that makes me a criminal, I am proud to be one. I am the face behind the balaclava. –Anonymous activist Animal Liberation Front. Arkangel Magazine, UK
