The Anthropic settlement admin, in the huge AI copyright infringement case, is sending claimants information about claim disputes, disagreements or confusion over allocation of the settlement funds, etc. Someone using the name "Stephen Edgington" is claiming 100% ownership and 100% of the settlement $ for more than 20 of my copyrighted books. I've never heard of this person, and I'm the sole copyright holder in every instance. So I have to upload my copyright documentation for every damn book to refute his fraudulent claim." From Laura Resnick (cont'd): "I'm also writing to the settlement admin, with copyright evidence attached, to report "Stephen Edgington" for fraud and urge them to pursue this matter and hold that "claimant" accountable. I assume "he" is filing a 100% claim to the books of dozens (hundreds?) of writers in hopes of receiving Anthropic settlement money to which he has no right whatsoever, in instances where the actual copyright holders or their heirs have NOT filed a claim and so there is no one to challenge his fraud."
