I got into the Elendil/Miriel, but only because I really love both of the actors. But at the same time, I don't think it makes sense for the characters. It's fun to play around with and joke about, but I'm not ready to defend it with my life.

People can just be so rude, or even mean, about their opinions and I'm not here for that. One of the reasons I never really interacted with the LOTR fan community until TROP.

I got to go to SDCC this year and got into Hall H, which was amazing, but also sobering to see that the little fandom corner in my head is...basically only in my head. After being in line for hours with a group to get in, I ended up sitting by myself.

It does feel like a good chunk of the fandom I follow and sometimes interact with is obsessing over different aspects (ships, really) and characters than I am, which makes it feel like the community isn't what it once was.

But loyalty to the characters and the actors makes me protective of the show right now. I'm not happy with some choices but I couldn't get Númenor out of my heart if I wanted to.

Late to the party (as usual) but I'm finding myself almost avoiding any fan discussion about the season because everyone seems to hate it now and I'm like nooo, this is my show and I'm ride or die with it. I do have a distaste more and more for McPayne...
