What we see now is the direct result of Trump’s blockade, not evidence of failure. Like so many humanitarian crises around the world which have spiraled out of control, what we see now is a magnified version of what we have been deliberately trying to do for decades.

There is a liminal space where opinion transforms into fact just before something becomes a “controversy” because someone says it is one. The reality is that public opinion started to change against us when they started claiming it was. The claim preceded the result.
