Interesting article - not only relevant to hyena (which I obviously love), but this line of research is also relevant to vultures, both as scavengers, and because they are often collateral damage in human-carnivore conflict.

One of a bearded vulture getting kissed. I messed up the vulture's eye and the perspective of the man a bit but I am happy with it! This one of a cinereous vulture, Drawn back in August. I wasn't happy with how I did the coloring so I made the one with the bearded vulture getting kissed.

The King Vulture's head is orange, purple, blue, and yellow. The Bearded Vulture eats almost nothing but bone. The Rüppell's Vulture has flown as high as a commercial jet, 37,000 feet.

23 species. None of them boring. 🦅

It's Monday, so let's talk about the most eel-some place in England. That's right..it's Ely time!

Ely is all about eels. Bede wrote in his Ecclesiastical History (c. 700 CE) that Ely took its name from the abundant eels in the nearby fens & waters: Ely means Isle of Eels. 1/3

Ominous bird valentines.
