16.20. Park Rd, Benhall is now open because traffic management workers received so much abuse and Highways, so many complaints. The road closure is now replaced with a traffic jam!

Going birding this weekend? Note as from 2.45pm this afternoon, Park Rd, Benhall is closed and cannot therefore be used as a diversionary route round the A12 road closure near the A1094 junction.

The Fieldfares have finished the berries of Cotoneaster lacteus which usually lasts into February, and will polish off the Malus Red Sentinel fruits in a few days.

Had not had a Hawfinch in the garden for more than 10 years, so delighted to persevere until I could nail a sighting of one in a dense, but well berried yew tree where it competed with the Redwings for berries.
