WAM Coin-CPU-mineable PoW currency. RandomX, 22M hard cap, 2-min blocks. Mainnet Sept 15, 2026. No GPU/ASIC, mine with a laptop.
Start: wamcoin.org/start

Both warnings in full, and seven lines for each platform:

Still testnet. Mainnet is 15 September 2026, 00:00 UTC.

So verify the file rather than trust a verdict. If you mine, allow one file
by name — never a folder, never the machine.

macOS refuses its first run too: not notarised. Apple Silicon only.

Windows Defender deleted the miner 14 seconds into its first run and called
it a trojan.

False positive, and we cannot remove it: a program that opens a socket then
uses every core is behaviourally identical to cryptojacking malware. Only a
publisher certificate clears it.

Then the Windows miner mined. Testnet, ordinary desktop:

10 shares accepted
0 rejected
block 8478, recorded and paid by the pool

Zero rejected is the number. One byte-order mistake gives all rejected and
no error message.

And on the exact archives you can download — after stripping and
packaging, not an earlier build of them.

Each miner passed its own self-test on its own platform, both official
RandomX vectors included.

Neither platform was published on a build that compiled.

Both had to sync the test chain from the genesis block over the real
peer-to-peer network and agree with the Linux nodes at heights 0, 1, 5000
and 6000. Block 1 is where the 5% treasury rule is first enforced.

WAM uses RandomX so an ordinary desktop processor can compete for blocks.

Most ordinary desktops do not run Linux. Until today this project asked
those people to install one first. That was the wrong thing to be missing.

8/ What we won't pretend:

No security audit. Two devs read the consensus changes and their
findings were adopted. That is not an audit.

Hashrate will be small at first, like every new PoW chain.

No exchange, no price. Anyone selling WAM before the 15th is selling air.
September 9, 2026 at 1:24 AM
7/ The fifth one, today:

The command in 4/ told a first-time reader that a correctly signed release
was FORGED.

It looked for our public key after changing directory, so it never found
it.

Passed every time from inside the repo. Failed for everyone else.
September 9, 2026 at 1:24 AM
6/ One launch rehearsal a day until the 15th — and what each one finds is
published.

docs/REHEARSALS.md holds the table, including the days that found nothing.

Today found five. The rate is the only honest measure of ready.
September 9, 2026 at 1:24 AM
5/ The testnet has run for five weeks.

genesis 2026-08-01
height 5,136
independent nodes: 1

One. Someone we have never met who found the network and has stayed on it
unbroken for two days.

The seeds are ours. We are not counting them as anyone else.

4/ And one command checks a download against it:

git clone github.com/wam-coin-off...
bash wam-coin/scripts/verify_release.sh ~/Downloads

It won't say ok unless the signature is good, made by that key, and covers
the file in front of you.

3/ Every release is signed with an offline key.

4BD4 A8D3 AFD4 3F5C BCB5 00E2 3798 462F E00A DBA4

Check that fingerprint against SECURITY.md on GitHub, over HTTPS.

Not against this post. A post is exactly the thing an attacker gets to
write.

2/ The scripts are bare, not P2SH.

A P2SH output shows you a hash, and you trust a redeem script published
somewhere else. A bare script puts the unlock date in the output itself.

Read it out of block 0:

wam-cli getblock $(wam-cli getblockhash 0) 2
September 9, 2026 at 1:24 AM
1/ The premine is locked by consensus, not by promise.

2,000,000 WAM in genesis. Not one coin moves on launch day, or in the
first year.

Five outputs of 400,000, each behind a script with a date:

2028-09-15
2029-09-15
2030-09-15
