I've had this painting staring at me for like a month. I haven't touched it in weeks & I think I have to call it complete.

Sitting outside near to a major interstate highway. I think the sound of it is kind of beautiful. It feels like most of my life, I've been listening to it & I don't know what I'd do without

Trying to record myself playing guitar & it is pretty humbling tbh. I am still very new at this & I'm learning a lot about where I need to improve.

I hate it when people use the word "meditative" when they mean "calming."

I am at the DMV. I was having a grand old time just sitting & waiting for my number to get called, it's been an hour, who knows how long I have left, but I have patience. Then a family comes in with a kid, loudly watching TikTok on an iPad. He gets up, leaves it playing & the family just lets it.

I have finished my second guitar build. Both my the guitars I've built have had two humbuckers like a Les Paul. I think for my next one, I should do a Stratocaster style build. My main guitar (that I didn't build) is a Strat.

I've spent a bunch of time in thrift/secondhand stores the last few days, and I don't know if I'm hot enough to shop at places like that.

I should be asleep but I keep thinking about fictional dogs.
"My name is Mouse, and I am a good dog. Everyone tells me so." From one of the Dresden Files short stories lives rent free in my head.

Scooby-Doo, being a Warner Brothers property, has a history of crossing over with DC characters.
James Gunn wrote the screenplay for the live action Scooby-Doo. That's all I'm saying.

I've been working out the last few weeks using resistance bands. I've finally crested the hill of being constantly sore, and I just think that's pretty cool. Maybe soon I'll start seeing my muscles getting bigger lol.

Starting to develop calluses on my fingertips from practicing on my ukulele. It feels a lot like having superglue on my fingertips all the time.

Been engaging with ukulele content so much in the last week or so that when I watched a video this morning with someone playing guitar, it looked comically large.

I was on r/ukulele today and saw a post written by a 21 year old about how they were "starting too late." Bro, what? Stop believing in talent, talent isn't real. Childhood prodigies are sort of real, but like, that's usually just because they got a head start.

Go from drinking medium roast your whole adult life to trying a light roast. This shit is ass. Reminds me of when I started drinking coffee, all over again.
