“Down for everyone or just me?” checkers stop at the verdict — then you refresh all afternoon.

Ours doesn't: if it's down, type your email. One email the moment the site is back. No account.

So I made an uptime monitor because the pricing for monitors out there is stupid

Uses Cloudflare Workers for multi-region support, and has a lot of latency stats. Naturally made an alternate Bluesky status page as example, with 9 region check

4 days of real JSON-RPC initialize handshakes, every 5 minutes, against 10 popular public MCP servers.

Fastest median reply: Cloudflare Docs, 16 ms. Slowest: CoinGecko, 664 ms — a 42× spread. 8/10 at 100% uptime.

Your database doesn't have a homepage.

Watchpup TCP checks watch Postgres, Redis, SSH — any host:port — every 60 seconds, free. Most free uptime tiers: HTTP-only at 5-minute intervals.

New: uptime monitoring that speaks MCP.

An HTTP check can't tell a working MCP server from a dead proxy answering 200. Watchpup now sends a real JSON-RPC initialize — up only when the protocol answers.

Watchpup is now an MCP server. Point Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client at it: 12 tools — create monitors & heartbeats, read + ack incidents, check any URL instantly. One API key header, no OAuth. Two tools need no key.

Your RAID controller can't curl a URL. It can send email. Every Watchpup heartbeat monitor gets its own ping email address — any delivered mail counts as a ping. Plus cron schedules w/ timezones, grace windows, and reminders until it's fixed. Free.
