I’m a substitute teacher with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. 14 years homeschooling my five kids, 4 years as a daycare educator, 3 years as a sub. Currently in a long term replacement, making 25$/h while the educational assistant in my room will make 39$/h on Monday when they get their new deal.

My high school kid had a lockdown and then full evacuation at school today. Everyone is perfectly fine but it makes me sick to my stomach every time and I’m Canadian. I can’t even imagine being an American and hearing this news.

I abhor all gun violence but it seems to me that Freedom of speech is a legal protection, not a moral or social one. If you say hateful things publicly about marginalized groups you’re putting yourself at huge risk for a lot of consequences which Freedom of speech can’t protect you from. 🧐

Found it pretty easy to buy almost my groceries avoiding American, Canadian companies are easy to spot and produce was all labeled as to country of origin. 🇨🇦🇨🇦

Agree. I remain traumatized when as a nursing student, a 99 year old was in for a vulvectomy, coded and was….a full code. Make it make sense.
I think after a certain age you shouldn't be allowed to be placed on a ventilator and I don't care if that makes me sound heartless

The realities of teaching in an inner city school: the day before March break when you’re exhausted, all of your students will be there because there are no trips or plans for these families.
