Ask for the review the day the job wraps, not three weeks later. One text, then one gentle reminder about a week out if nothing comes back, then leave it. Same simple ask every time, that's what builds steady reviews over guesswork. Want to see the wording we use with trades clients?

Since 2016 our rule with trades clients has been simple: no jargon, anywhere. Not just the sales pitch, the onboarding calls and the paperwork too. 'Schema markup' becomes 'the stuff that helps Google understand your site.' Anyone else dealt with a vendor who talks over your head?

Search isn't one thing anymore. Google, Maps, and AI answers are all pulling from the same business info now, so getting it right once matters more than chasing each platform separately. Still comes down to the same question: does the phone ring. Where are people finding you lately?

One lake, 2 names! US renamed Lake Ontario "Lake America", Google Maps went along, only for Americans. 🇨🇦Canadians still see Lake Ontario.
We asked 5 AIs about it, whether a Canadian business should change its website? All 5 said the same thing. See results: webmax.ca/blog/lake-on...

Rank isn't the metric that pays your bills. Calls, click-to-call rate, and Google Business interactions tell you way more about what's actually working. One odd week means nothing, look at the trend over a month or two before you judge it. Ping us if you want our simple reporting template. ☎️

The next customer doesn't know your name.
They only know they need a solution.
When they search, they choose from the businesses they can find, understand, and trust.
That's why your online presence matters more than ever.

Gordie Howe bridge opens July 27. Eight years, six billion dollars, and it's opening like a shop door. So the party's on the Canadian side. Bring a lawn chair.

Websites, SEO, AI Visibility, they don't come with labels either. Go Canadian. WebMax.ca

Reviews are vanishing off Google Business Profiles nationwide. Google confirmed July 3 it's a bug, and says legitimate reviews will be restored. No timeline. Screenshot your count today for a dated record. Caught it early? You were watching. Most owners won't. Need help? Link in comment.

You check the ketchup. You check the syrup. Your marketing provider hasn't been flipped over once.
30 seconds. That's all a label check takes.

Ketchup? You check. Syrup? You check. Your marketing provider? Most Canadian business owners have never looked.
Where's the work actually done? Who picks up the phone? Worth 30 seconds to find out.
Check the label. webmax.ca

We recently walked away from a sale.
Not because the prospect was a bad fit.
Because the budget, expectations, and timeline didn't line up.
Sometimes the most honest answer is no.

Search is changing.
Google still matters, but customers are also using AI tools to decide who looks trustworthy enough to call.

A website used to be enough to get calls.

Now it feels like something else is influencing who actually gets chosen.

Being a woman in this biz has not always been easy. Same for women in trades, pushing through.
Part of why Mike Rothe and I built WebMax Canada, and now SpottableAI, to keep this work human. Tech matters. People matter more.
