I would say to dip your toes in and treat Linux like a game system with extra features. A Steam Deck and dock, or some Beelink PC with Bazzite into your capture card, and a Dualsense. Bam, you can try gaming on Linux and if it doesn't work, run it on Windows.

So wasn’t expecting to talk about this tonight but why not.

I think one of my issues current day gaming runs into is games want to be a movie. To the point they forget they are actually a game.

It’s been frustrating to see this happen. Miss when games could actually be games.

I'm actively curating a list of cool people for myself. If I saw you at #VCFMW this year, there's a good chance you're on the list - and even if not, if you have any interest in technology, I'm eager to add you here! bsky.app/profile/did:...

I don't speak for the community but I'm considering "AI could solve that" as a derogatory statement.

Yeah, sure, AI *could* solve that, and what good will it do for you or me as far as knowing or understanding the technology we're trying to revive?
this was half of my interactions at VCFMW this weekend btw

multiple times talking to someone about reverse engineering hardware or rewriting/resurrecting a dead codebase of firmware and them saying "yeah i bet <insert LLM agent here> could do that for you in an afternoon"
another day another experienced engineer i used to respect in the field telling me "you could probably ask Claude to do that"

Eric's works are some of the earliest videos I saw (from reuploaders on Youtube, of course) and Sabrina-Online, though I stopped following it (I think around the time she started dating in the story?) was some of my earliest memories browsing yesteryear's internet.
Respect to you, EWS.
In 1996, Eric W. Schwartz (@ericwschwartz.bsky.social) debuted his webcomic "Sabrina Online".

The series grew alongside the internet itself, and certainly influenced several artists around the world.

In its 30 years, I'd like to thank Eric for sharing his great talent & humor with us! 🎂🦨

Happy birthday to my favorite webcomic #SabrinaOnline by @ericwschwartz.bsky.social

I remember first stumbling into the original comic strips from an old #Amiga Format Magazine from around 1997 and came to love it.

And would you know it, it also happens to be my birthday today as well.

...to find out it was vibecoded and the creator is a crypto bro on top.

Stop mangling my childhood with this crap.

Games that didn't age well are just poorly designed from the start. Most people have the sense to realize something is "missing" but it's hard to recover that with modern emulation or remakes without rewriting the rules.
We as humans have the sense to detect such nuance... some better than others.

So its said that the Sony blackout was ineffective in every way possible.

Im not surprised as why would it? Gun and ball gamers exist. GTA is going to keep them afloat for quite a while.

Longterm brand damage however is pretty severe. Death by a thousand cuts kill slowly. Ask Sega.

Robert Kraft — who's given millions to pro-Israel orgs like AIPAC — once got a $1M award from Netanyahu for helping stop people from boycotting Israel.

"Israel does not have a more loyal friend than Robert Kraft," Netanyahu said.

Now, Kraft helps kick Macklemore off Ed Sheeran's tour:

I fucking hate "I don't take sides" people, which is just siding with the oppressor and hoping you'll have plausible deniability. You're not apolitical, you're not neutral, you're just doing this:
According to too many,
there is white and then there is political
there is male and then there is political
there is capitalism and then there is political
there is straight and then there is political
there is cis and then there is political
there is non-disabled and then there is political
