a few thoughts youtu.be/lERS4kJIQR8

Starting the new year with some good movies.
One of my goals this year is finding good movies with lots of interesting special features and thanks to @timberlandlibrary.bsky.social that shouldn't be a problem.

Well, I’m a lawyer, so let me give it a shot.

And here we are.

the most appalling part of this political era is the physical harm they are inflicting on innocent people but secondary to that i find the constant smug lectures from this country's biggest collection of hypocrites, scammers, perverts, pedophiles, and overall bozos very distasteful

Kennedy is dragging the country backward into the discredited territory of vaccine conspiracies and poisoned-air paranoia -- all while ignoring the voices of actual autistic people and the researchers who understand the complexities of this condition.

Are you listening? It’s the least you can do.
Powerful, substantive, passionate. A clarion call to stand.

Some code for a simple game I published. I’ll start sharing all the files that went into making my games, but the .blend file is a bit messy since I’m not a pro at Blender.

Just made an account for Nil Coalescing here on Bluesky! Make sure to give it a follow for more #SwiftLang, #SwiftUI, #iOSDev, and #macOSDev content 🚀

I released a new book 🎉

SwiftUI Fundamentals combines my knowledge and experience from using SwiftUI since its release and working on its source code at Apple to give you a solid understanding of the most important aspects of the framework: books.nilcoalescing.com/swiftui-fund...

USAID matters. I've often disagreed with their strategy and choices, but their work saves more lives than any philanthropy can. It's a rounding error in the federal budget, and one of the best things we do as a country. To see it destroyed overnight by one unelected man is an unmitigated horror.

My friend @adambecker.bsky.social's upcoming book on how ultra-rich techbros are selling sci-fi-inspired scams has received a fantastic review from Kirkus: "An important and sober investigation of Silicon Valley’s boldest claims about the future."

I’m working on an icon for my 2D platformer game, but I’m not exactly an artist. I’m keeping things simple for now, testing it on my phone while I work on the code and in game art.

I’m sending out the first issue of the Nil Coalescing newsletter tomorrow! I want to keep it casual and personal, so it’ll be email-only, not on the web. If you’d like to get it, make sure to sign up!

Same. This is not where I look for fights — or even for perfectly civil debates. I have other places to find all that! This place, for me, is primarily for learning about things I find interesting, sharing stuff I think is cool, and connecting with people in worthwhile ways.

Hello, World. I’ve been working on some SwiftUI + SpriteKit projects. This one is just a simple side-scrolling endless runner that works on all Apple platforms except for Apple Watch.

I will be sharing my game and app projects with you all here.
