It is so odd for these ai risk people to think "oh surely ai superintelligence will extinct all human beings" when token spills have already/will soon make the economics of running a website/political campaign radically different.
i think the only change in my opinions re: AI safety since this post is that i'm now mildly concerned with rogue intelligence—not as an existential threat but as a "oops i forgot to tell Claude make no mistakes and accidentally bricked the NYSE" problem
