You are correct, once you know the rules you can choose to break them, based on your own risk tolerance.
However, in the context of a fantasy about a member of their group just vanishing without anyone noticing, or being caught obviously unprepared for a problem, I stand by what I said.

Also, space marines are certainly overplayed, but I love the Heresy arc because The Emperor of Man, king shit of fuck mountain and history's Greatest Man fails in his project essentially because he's a terrible father

Haven't gotten to it yet, but I've heard that Voidscarred by Mike Brooks is the best Aeldari book to come out in a very long time.
I'll also second the Eisenhorn trilogy. It's pretty good, and generally at the normal human level. The space marines that do appear are treat with appropriate terror

Bear in mind that the diagnostic criteria for ASD are mainly used for children, especially boys. As a grown woman, you've had a lot more time to learn and adapt your behavior.
