I have family members (lifetime National voters) who voted TOP last time as didn't warm to Luxon. I expect they'll do the same this year. Our conversations are very fraught.

They're refugees from NACT and NZ First who will never ever vote red labour, satanic greens, or too hot to handle TPM. Never read a manifesto or considered anyone but themselves. Then there'll be " but this isn't what I voted for" !

Totally agree Sarah. I said to a family member just yesterday that I don't recognise us anymore. Jarring, sad, and very disheartening.

In 2023 election my UK resident grandson with a Masters in International Relations was eligible to vote here as had been home for a visit. He analysed all the manifestos and said the only possible vote for him here was TPM which he did. My East Auckland friends were aghast, I beamed with pride.

I found the Maritime Museum in Aberdeen fascinating. Also the old fishing village of Footdee which is an easy walk from Maritime Museum. Unfortunately the art gallery and and Museum were both closed for renos.
