Just a pleb.

There are just enough selfish people in the world to make me despair for the future of mankind.

Trump says "drill baby, drill".

He won't be around to see the destruction, but in 50 years or so, large parts of the planet will be uninhabitable and terrible conflicts will result.

My son turns 21 on Monday, I just hope he has time to eke some pleasure out of life.

That's how bleak I feel rn.

"The most significant breaches in Premier League history"

If the Premier League would like a precedent, I give you: Leeds City 1919.

Proving difficult for former Man city players and managers to accept the blindingly obvious.

But then, why wouldn't he trust the guy who's been found guilty of 114 charges, including fraud and cover-ups? 🤷

Just because I strongly oppose any measure to tackle Russian misinformation, doesn’t mean I’m on Russia's side.
In unrelated news, one of the few times I bothered turning up for work as an MEP was to vote AGAINST measures to tackle the spread of Russian misinformation...

The odds on this being chance are lottery odds. It stinks to high heaven and back and fits every criteria for what would be insider trading in a normal country. We of course know that what Trump is doing is neither legal nor ethical. He is a criminal leach sucking the lifeblood out US taxpayers.

Anyone know why a newspaper owned by the Fourth Lord Rothermere, who inherited a fortune from the Third Lord Rothermere, who inherited his money from the Second Lord Rothermere, who inherited it from the First Lord Rothermere, is so strongly opposed to inheritance tax?

All this everyone has a right to peaceful protest stuff is fine had the cops not been arresting grannies and sending them to prison for less. Burnham, predictably, falling into some of the same traps that did for Starmer.

Outstanding public interest journalism, here.
The Post Office told wrongly-accused postmasters that their compensation offers were secret, and couldn't be shown to anyone.

That was false.

The Solicitors Regulation Authority was about to prosecute the lawyers responsible. But now it's dropped the case, and won't say why.

Please help me understand.

Chelsea paid Ipswich £30 mill for Liam Delap.

He didn't play much during his one season with them, and looked like a competition winner when he did appear.

Chelsea have now sold him for £50 million.

Has football lost its collective mind, or is it me?

These are not data centres, they are monuments to our environmental failures and our capitalist consumption of trivia. They are the ultimate dumbing down of our species. That we are permitting it is a measure of how dumb we have gotten so far. We’ll fill them with an archive of our self-destruction.
Approximately 514 million litres of water was used between May and July, compared to 276 million litres between January and April.

During July alone, when the hosepipe ban was introduced, data centres used over 200 million litres of water.
