Political meat-proxy astroturfing needs to be legislatively nuked out of existence if we want to have any semblance of a democracy. The use of this tech should be an immediate career ending scandal.
The way the app works is this:
-Supporters sign up and download the app
-Soon, they begin receiving notifications, known in the app as "Digital Fighters Tasks"
-The app auto-generates text for the supporter to post, and offers a reward in exchange for copying it on to social media

This sucks super hard, but I’m sort of enjoying the through-line of the Canadian government telling Meta they must pay when other people link to news via their website and them pulling an uno reverse and making YOU pay THEM for the ability to link to things instead.
i'm sorry, i now have to sign up for something called "meta one" to post links to my own website from my website's own facebook page?????

Wanting more Wikidata-backed projects in the world, I was somehow able to nerd-snipe my partner Liza into making one! She was able to turn her weird esoteric knowledge of this mid 90s philosopher collective into a well sourced computable relationship graph.

Go check it out, it's cool, I promise!

New Apple Maps Gaussian splat(?) trees look pretty incredible. Real cool mix of techniques, excited to see it rolled out more broadly.

for two months, I've been flying drones over Flock cameras to situation them in space and geography; I even got my commercial drone license in order to do it.

I'd like to share this project with you all: it's called Records Of Enemy Surveillance:

As somebody who's been on their forum from the beginning, everything Austin says in this thread rings true and seems pretty tough to deal with.
if you want to start a platform co-op, nobody tells you:

you will be held to the same consumer expectations as any venture-backed platform. functional, beautiful, well-resourced, every feature at launch, every email answered immediately.

Migration tools like this are incredibly good, migration tools to get off of Substack are even better
Death to Substack?

Yes, its time. No more excuses 🫵🏽 We've been working on migration tools for the last couple months. Promising a few of you it's coming "any day now".

Today is that day 🥳🥂

I love buying music. Spotify is 14 bucks a month, I just spent $20, all of which went to the artists and now I GET TO KEEP IT FOREVER!

Next month I probably won't buy any new music (we'll see) and I'll still have the things I bought because they're mine! What a concept.
