Never did I think I would see a cure for sickle cell in my lifetime.
A friend of mine in fifth grade died from this disease. My parents kept me home from the funeral because they thought I was too young to handle it.
Modern science is a miracle.

When I was in my 3rd year of cancer treatment, a friend rescued a pup & suggested I foster him “for a few weeks.” I said no, insisting I was too sick, hopeless & I myself needed fostering.
On 11-10-19 he brought the pup to me anyway😇🪽
