Looking back at box office performance in 2024 there was a drop in overall gross compared to 2023 and performance is still far off pre-Covid levels.
There has also been a drop in the average budgets of top films, potentially indicating a shift in appetites of audiences and producers.

Finally watched Arrietty to complete the whole Studio Ghibli collection. Very much enjoyed it, a nice adaptation of The Borrowers which was one of my favourites as a kid.

Finally watched Arrietty to complete the whole Studio Ghibli collection. Very much enjoyed it, a nice adaptation of The Borrowers which was one of my favourites as a kid.
No one I’ve met has seen this but it’s a great watch. Funky score by Stewart Copeland that sounds like the Spyro games, and it’s directed by the cinematographer for Pulp Fiction.

Somehow I have only just discovered the LET() function in Excel/Google Sheets and it is going to revolutionise my formulas. Programming-style variable definitions within spreadsheet calculations is pretty powerful
