Taken from elsewhere and done the rounds, but one of my favourite Lanc photos. Especially as on first impression you think it was shot at a high shutter speed and then you realise the inner port engine is still going whilst the remainder are feathered.

Staying with family and friends on the Magdalen Road in London and found this very sad grave in the cemetery. Dad killed at Peenemunde and she was possibly killed by a V Weapon a year later. Tragic story probably forgotten by most.

If you ever visit St Margaret’s Church Westminster, you should check out Pew 38, which is somewhat charred at one end. This was caused by a Luftwaffe oil-incendiary bomb which crashed through this window and started a fire, which although quickly extinguished, left evidence we can still see today.
