Avid nerd enthusiast. I love Computers, RPGs, Photography, Art, Reading, Learning, and more. I try very hard to understand other points of view and not be too judgy, and I firmly believe that diversity and multiple viewpoints make for better solutions.
The joy of being a good person sometimes is that you sadly realize that sometimes the greater good of humanity and future generations requires some sacrifices, up to and including yourself. The unwillingness to make even the smallest sacrifice or even to demand that only others have to make it is…
"You wouldn't likely survive a real revolution."
True.
That does nothing to reduce my growing belief that one may be required.

Gorgeous maps! I cannot wait.
My artbook UNBOUND also collects some unique maps where I have tried to push the boundaries of cartography - like Creon shaped as a huge airship! 😀

Good afternoon, I've just discovered as a result of seeing this post that there's an absolutely exasperated community page with advice about how to deal with Trump pronouncements and actions

I won’t spoil anything for you, but Buddy was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time for all the most creative reasons. Incredibly believable acting, absolutely perfect costuming and set design, writing and direction were immaculate. 11/10, no complaints. Every person involved was perfect

I am including important locations, npcs, plots, various history / lore bits associated with things, and some adventure ideas. I am planning to expand more on as many of the topics as I can for my own benefit. If people are interested, I might throw it on my website when I’m done.

I am not normally a writer but I have started trying to document all of the stuff for my current D&D campaign both for my benefit and because one of my players wants to contribute as sort of a co-DM and I think I am up to about 40 pages of stuff so far, and I only stopped for the day because sleep.

My humblebrag is that I have a book problem instead of a drug problem. I travel for work and comb used bookstores. Our house currently has 14 full bookshelves with one more waiting to be built. My son says it’s a problem.

I love that @octoash-art.bsky.social and @barilleon.com are kind of the same person, but I know them for wildly unrelated reasons. (Pretty sure Leon is an evolution of Ash, and I can’t wait to see them get there)

I've been doing a lot more thinking lately, which is a weird thing to say. I might pour some of that out here to see where it takes me. I kind of miss the old social media days of original thoughts and not just 1000 reposts of Meme's and awful news that may or may not be true. Bluesky seems good.

Also, next week with any luck will be my first session with my own homespun adventure in Sharn. I have the 3E and 5E sourcebooks, but I am still a little lost on where I want to take this. It is a small party with a Herengon Artificer and an Elf Rogue with a Pixie Cleric NPC companion. #DND

Today's D&D Session was solid if expositional. I did a lot of verbose descriptions in their planar travels along with one small Ambush encounter. They went from the city of Sigil to Ecstasy in the Outlands to Elysium and the Castle of Lathander where they got their first set of long term goals.

I’m loving the current parties I’m DMing for. One Planar Campaign for a party of people I have played with for 30 years, plus my own teens, and a separate game for 2 complete strangers from other countries that is sort of a combo of Radiant Citadel and Homebrew about to head to Sharn. #DND

@octoash-art.bsky.social joined BlueSky! I’m so excited. I wish her all of the followers for when she starts posting her art and game content. She is the best.

Just saw Supergirl. It was awesome. I’m pretty sure 90% of the haters online have not watched the movie. I saw it with my son and my nephew. They both also enjoyed it. Great actors, good story, overall solid. Milly and Eve (and many others) were 100% believable in their roles. I hope we get more.

Social Stretch Goal: if this post gets 250 reposts, we will add a crab as a playable mutator to Cyberrats in Space.

You've been mutating for years. It's the natural evolution.

I think AI has its uses. However, hearing an ad about how I should let the Walmart AI plan my meals for me is the most wretched use I have heard yet.

I'm reminded of an old IGN headline from 2001:

“There’s a tendency among the press to attribute the creation of a game to a single person,” says Warren Spector, creator of Thief and Deus Ex.
The best leaders in this industry aren’t those who have a hyper-detailed, one-man-show vision of their project. They don’t minimise or claim the work that their teammates do. They are the ones who are excited about what others can bring to the dynamic. Who hold the vision, rather than own it.
