I remember enjoying Chase the Express (aka Covert Ops: Nuclear Dawn) when it was new, it's a tank-control survival-action game set on a train, and is very much in that Time Crisis "Japanese devs make a Western action movie" style.

Red Dead Redemption 2. I can see the point of its slow pace, it's a world you need to bathe in, but I got frustrated with how it felt the game was fighting me when I wanted to do something. Also the M&K controls are a bit jank.
No hate, no dogpiling, just curious.
For me, it's Skyrim. Don't know why, considering it should be exactly my kind of game, but it just didn't click for me.

JP Trespasser is fascinating, in places showing ideas that wouldn't be mature until stuff like Half-Life 2. As @outsidexbox.bsky.social put it, "they were so preoccupied with whether they should, they didn't stop to think if they could". If they had any guts the new JP game would be "Trespasser 2"

I was trying a few old drives to see if any were more suitable for video capture than what I'm using, and didn't like how eerily quiet my machine was at boot without an optical drive clicking into self-test.

I'm 19 months into unemployment due to illness, and I just got a letter that my earlier payment for storage didn't go through, and I have until the 1st to pay 2000$ or they're auctioning off my storage, which has 12 years of games & retrotech.

Exile, an early Amiga game as it was first made for the BBC and Acorn Electron, then ported to the C64, Amiga, and ST. This pixel art splash screen goes *way* harder than it needs to.

Most people know the PS1 boot sound, but I'm not sure as many know that the sound is not actually pre-recorded but just 3 simple samples being mixed, playback at different speeds and generated at runtime to produced the final output.
