I'm gonna say it, modders in the last ten years haven't been cut from the same cloth as the ones from the 90s and 2000s to begin with.

With international lesbian day drawing to a close, evil and intimidating horses around the world are rejoicing, re-emerging from their subterranean paddocks to inherit the earth.

Unless you make people who have wronged you suffer for it, nothing will change.

I miss when pervert glasses meant the big swirly dork glasses from anime.

The worst part of AI isn't the AI, the AI is a glorified predictive spell checker. The worst part is that it's held a mirror up to just how terrible other people are.

I would rather the ports didn't exist and the projects that did exist were in the hands of enthusiasts who cared enough to do it the right way. All this decompiling trend has done is damage the scene, drive away genuine work, set back real projects-- while delivering passing novelty to tourists.
I like seeing the argument "without AI these ports would not exist" and here's my actual response:
I actually would rather not see them exist for an extremely simple reason: They're absolutely USELESS.

And I would say that emulation has always allowed similar improvements the entire time.

Videogames are best when they are a private conversation between maker and player.
maybe i'm old fashion but the coolest thing about video games is being taken to new worlds that i hadn't thought up and experiencing something exciting that the artists behind the game want to show me

"erm actually it wasn't discord it was a third-party service adjacent to discord"

have you considered carefully

one is it irrelevant, people still got their data leaked

and two, that I do not care

I want discord to explode and burn

I'm gonna add an isometric mode to a game i'm working on because it just looks so neat.

Look, i've not seen it, but from what i've heard it's not terrible.

It's just the wrong cultural moment.

It probably would have done well in the mid-2000s, a good two-to-ten waves of cynicism ago.

I think it's super funny how you put tony hawk's skate into world of warcraft, very random, it's almost as good as putting thomas the tank engine in things. What if i frankenstein vibe coded your parents back together so maybe they might give you attention.

There's a bloke who's been diligently working on space corridor the correct way for 5 years who just threw his pc out the window.
The video advertising Unity's ew AI-driven autocomplete game maker has 'Mari' who has a game idea they "always wanted to make" and that idea is "Space Corridor" and it looks like this, and that's the strongest argument I can think of for keeping game dev out of the pro-AI crowd's hands.
