Another aspect is the layer where I asked the AI to generate a commentary about it's own consumption. It turned in something that vacillated wildly in tone. No real surprise there, but I came to appreciate the voicing. It complements the ambiguity I hope to achieve in the work.

It reminded me of the 1933 King Kong, how the fur moves. Someone once pointed out that—because it's stop motion—the fur bristles in strange and beautiful ways because of the animators, it's a record of their fingerprints in the fur. All that mess is the human record of the conversation...

Initially, I was frustrated with using so many miscellaneous materials: giant Duralar sheets, oil pens, stencils, airbrush, archival tapes and adhesives etc. It was very messy and I'd lose my mind every time a pen bled all over. But quickly I learned to appreciate it as the human response...

The first piece examines data center water consumption, and the second piece illustrates carbon footprint of AI training. Each one is built as if it a giant presentation in some hellish boardroom.

The whole world of printing: monotypes, prontoplates, lithographs, etching, etc, has been calling to me for a while. I've made one copperplate etching and a handfull of lino cuts. I made myself a promise to take some kind of class in summer. I look forward to seeing more of yours!
