I don’t have a memory of these 17 minutes as a 7th grader. But @vermontgmg.bsky.social vividly illustrates this in a way I’ve not seen expressed before. A must read, especially as we are now a quarter century removed from that day.
This captures exactly my feelings on that morning. I was in starting my car to go to work when the first plant hit and thought horrible accident.
Got to work and when I turned on the radio at my desk and heard about the 2nd plane. It was an attack.
We were shocked.

Had a 3 hour ATC delay last night which put the departure out of SeaTac an hour before sunset. What transpired was some of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen from the air. Stunning.
