If you want to be good at pickleball, there is really no shortcut. You have to patiently learn and practise the right swing and footwork. Those hacks in short videos won't help.

Turns out, haste is waste. Slow and steady is the key to building a really good capability.

the strange thing about happiness: when we’re truly happy, we can forget our worries, and sometimes even forget the people we love most.

Baby animals are just so adorable. They naturally fill us with affection, hope and a sense of vitality. The same goes for human babies.

Who can genuinely enjoy the early morning on a Monday?!!

There is hope when you think less of yourself.

However you simply lose when you doubt or belittle yourself thought the eyes and looks that others look down on you.

Sometimes, you can't make peace with things.

Something you have to earn; someone else can just go home and ask their parents for it.

Perhaps what makes it so hard to let go is that where we are born matters so much, yet it is the one thing we have absolutely no power to change.

With herbal remedies, the ingredients are usually the things we've seen, smelled or tasted before. We can easily connect them with familiar or unpleasant memories. Maybe that's why we instinctively develop a dislike of them.

Sometimes we stay in the same place, face the same direction, do the same thing, hold on to the same thought, or attach to the same person, year after year.

Eventually, we start to believe that is what it must be, and that it will last forever.

When something looks too real, even something fake can fool us into believing it's real.

A friend of mine has had a little cactus for 10 years. She waters it now and then, and somehow the cactus has looked the same for all these years without the slightest change.

Every time I walk into a grocery store, I am in another shock. ⚡️

At this rate, a whole month’s hard-earned paycheque barely covers a few trips to the grocery store. 😢

But when it is getting light, and I have to head out to work, I’m usually still half-asleep and have very little energy to appreciate all those gorgeous colours against the dark sky.

What a shame.

Autumn is such a wonderful, colourful season. Even the sky seems generous with its beauty, often spreading brilliant colours across the entire horizon.

We have a saying: “ A red sky in the morning, sailors take warning; a red sky at night, sailors’ delight.” A morning glow often means rain is on the way, so it is not a good time to travel far.

A life can be full without a partner. And a life with a partner chosen from desperation or social pressure is emptier than most people allow themselves to admit.

Some people are just naturally gifted. For example, when they pick up a pickleball paddle, they can somehow become ridiculously good at it.

But don’t be discouraged. Some of us may not be “born gifted”, but with enough practice and hard work, we can still become absolutely unstoppable.

you can care, but don’t interfere. Once your children are grown, that’s one boundary parents need to respect.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. So true. I have an acquaintance who is clearly a high-energy person, but somehow managed to take a sick day and then go out and have fun.

I came across this today:

“When you hold a thought in your heart, you’re reflecting. When you hold it in your head, you’re worrying.“

Try it. It’s surprisingly true.
