"Today, perhaps, will be the day of the new world."

There seems to be a stereotype that good public speakers are always loud, confident extroverts, or that to be a good speaker we need to imitate these people. The truth is often the opposite. As audience members we can be drawn to quiet and shy speakers, awkward speakers, and goofy speakers.

One of my most frequent encouragements I give to speakers is to own their space. Related to the idea that you cannot disappear, and that you do belong here, is the idea of grounding. Grounding does not mean being stuck, but being stable and strong.

Others that required visas – like Ghana, DRC, Syria, Uganda, Sri Lanka – had applications mostly denied."

The pressure against Starbucks is growing from all directions.

Customers and allies uniting to NOT BUY STARBUCKS is key. Delete your Starbucks app and tell everyone you know to avoid Starbucks until real changes are made!

After Years of Union Avoidance, External Pressure Is Building on Starbucks
Nearly five years since the first Starbucks location unionised, contract negotiations are still dragging on. Can external pressure from shareholders and human-rights campaigners make a difference?
