Herbert the Herb garden is doing very well this year with a bunch of volunteers seeded from last year. Mixed in is some raw, dirty wool to keep the rodents away (it’s working). Rosemary, 3 types of basil, chives, dill, oregano, cilantro, and parsley. 💚

I had the privilege to visit Schindler’s Enamel Factory (turned museum) when I was in Poland a few years ago. It was horrifying. I’ll have the opp to visit Anne Frank’s house this year and even though it’ll be a downer, I’m grabbing it with both hands and will be telling everyone I can about it.

Finished up “Colorshift” by Melanie Berg, and finally got around to washing and blocking it. Been leaning into wearing more wraps and shawls this winter- they’re nice for keeping a chill off my neck and shoulders while working on more bog witch stuff.

Took a little break between book 7 and 8 of The Sandman Slim series for one of my great loves: Autobiographies read by the author. This was a GREAT, but difficult and triggering read. It felt like my emotions and memories were articulated perfectly in this book. 10/10 @kathleenhanna.bsky.social

Ted has me trained. He will stare under furniture/appliances until I get onto the floor and fish out a toy, whether there’s a toy actually under there or not. He also likes to get between me and the void, very helpful.

In this book, some main characters are Jewish, but it’s a high fantasy book with elves. There’s a lot of unwritten historical context in it with antisemitism themes and it’s a good read.
However, being atheist, the real theistic struggles have less hold on me than the fake elves.

The garden is picking up steam! I thought some of the tomato plants were green zebras, but they’re turning yellow and orange, so who knows!
At this rate, I’ll be bringing overflow to the bar on Sundays for Brunch/“Church”.
I have also let several dog walkers know that they should pick freely.

I lament this thin sauce, I forgot we had run out of corn starch, but the flavor and crisp farmers market vegetables were perfect. We are spoiled here in Madison 💙💙

#TheAICon is super relevant to my world, and there’s even a section in here about the taxi industry! As a former driver, I felt the tech boom push me out of a living wage and now I see AI starting to invade my data integration work. This will make my job shittier while techbros keep hyping it.
