N64 and PSX artists rejoice - my vertex/normal painter tool POLYPAINT is now (finally) live on the Unity Asset Store!! 🎊

Grab it 30% off for the launch week - I can't wait to see what you all do with it!

hope this is the start of me showing more of how actual games are made with pocket workstation.
Time to program bouncy ball character physics!

thinking of adding a vertex shading tool to the level editor in #pocketworkstation .
interactive volumes that emit a color with a falloff radius 🤔

I made this guy specifically for the tech-specs booklet.

pocket workstation doesn't quite have the limitations of a fantasy console, but it does have its own quirks and this booklet will help understand some of that stuff.

the texture drawing tab in the poly-editor program.

I don't show much texturing because I'm really bad at this, but there are drawing tools for pixel perfect texturing.
I just recently introduced a pixel preview feature (second screen).

I've made the 3d model preview bigger during gif capture.

For anyone wondering what's the software, it's a game development environment with all the tools to make games and a c++ runtime to run the self-contained rom file that comes out of this thing. #pocketworkstation

And a cute little low poly tape deck to match 🥰

Been doing some quick and small fixes for the SAGE demo this week but on the side, I started some pre-production work on one of the next worlds. Here's a very early level block-out with DJ Fuzz running and jumping through it.

Still working on my engine/console editor! I now have nearly everything I need to implement it correctly! I've beaten the final boss of my life, the UI Lib !!
Now something worse took it's place, font loading and rasterisation. 😢
So I side tracked a bit and worked on the style!

I've been working on mesh instancing to save video memory.

Pocket workstation doesn't have a scene graph (a loaded level doesn't draw itself). These are only level-editor facilities that the user then needs to exploit:
load level, list instances, draw source model at instance location.

I'm trying a lot of wallpapers, I shouldn't have implemented this!

this editor is really inspiring when it comes to quick level editing. I love how each quad seems to have properties and can be switched to different uvs on the fly.
Well thought I would share my little sega Saturn game engine too thing :p
Really wanted the old school retro look... Like look at that chunk fade :p

This was my first ever post there, I did not expect for people to care about this project!

this project is a good reminder for me to improve the pixel-perfect drawing tools.
Imagine Aseprite or another #pixelart program inside Blender?

Pixel Perfect Pixel Art drawing and texture painting on top of the model in the 3D viewport and in 2D.

Drawing, painting, selection tools, layers, texel density (pixel size) setup and density zones (multiple pixel sizes). #blender3d
